The Fool’s Glass – Privacy Policy
1) The information we collect.
(a) We may collect personally identifiable information about you, such as your full name, phone number and email address when you contact us through our “Contact the Fool” page on the website thefoolsglass.com. We may collect additional personally identifiable information about you, such as your physical address when you choose to purchase a product from us either directly through an email, private Facebook message, our CafePress storefront, or our Etsy storefront.
(b) If you choose to purchase a product from us, we or our third-party payment processors (PayPal, Square, Etsy Payments), or the appropriate shipping handler (United States Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, DHL) will collect your payment information, along with any shipping information.
(c) We do not send any promotional emails, nor do we send service-related emails.
2) How we use your information.
(a) We use the information that we collect to track your purchase and to send your purchased item to you.
(b) We use the information that we collect to establish a dialog to collect and refine your requirements for a custom piece of stained glass.
(c) We use the information that we collect to respond to questions and concerns.
3) How We Share Your Information:
(a) Personally Identifiable Information:
i) The Fool’s Glass will not rent or sell your personally identifiable information to others. We may store personal information in locations that are in the direct control of The Fool’s Glass (for instance, on file servers or databases on internal hard drives.) No personal information will be stored in locations outside of the direct control of The Fool’s Glass, other than the information collected by our third-party payment processors or shipping handlers (PayPal, Square, Etsy Payments, United States Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, DHL.) Please reference their policies for the information that would be under their control.
ii) Personally identifiable information that you may choose to make viewable, such as posting to our Facebook page, will be available. If you remove information that you have made public on our Sites, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of our sites, or if others have copied or saved that information. We do not have access to those cache locations or archived pages or any copies that others may have saved.
(b) Non-personally identifiable information:
i) The Fools’ Glass may collect non-personally identifiable information to track sales trends, pricing feedback, website usability, and website usage.
ii) Non-Personally identifiable information that you may choose to make viewable, such as posting to our Facebook page, will be available. If you remove information that you have made public on our Sites, copies may remain viewable in cached and archived pages of our sites, or if others have copied or saved that information. We do not have access to those cache locations or archived pages or any copies that others may have saved.
4) Storage and Processing.
(a) Your information collected through our website, Facebook page, or other sales / payment portals may be processed in the United States, Europe, or any other company in which those service providers maintain facilities. Through the use of these services, information collected about you, including personal information, may be transferred across borders and from your country or jurisdiction to other countries or jurisdiction.
(b) If you are located in the European Union or other regions with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, please note that we will not transfer information, including personal information, to a country or jurisdiction that does not have the same data protection laws as your jurisdiction. The Fool’s Glass is dependent upon the service providers that we use (e.g. Etsy, Facebook, etc.) for their practices regarding storing and processing.
5) Data Retention.
(a) The Fool’s Glass will maintain information relevant to sales (Name, address, phone numbers) within the services we use for payments and shipping (PayPal, Square, Etsy Payment Services, United States Postal Service, UPS, FedEx, DHL).
(b) Emails exchanged between you and either TheFoolsGlass@gmail.com or mcquigg@gmail.com will be retained 7 years for tax and legal purposes.
(c) Written documents (receipts, order forms, contracts) are retained indefinitely in a file cabinet on the premises of The Fool’s Glass.
6) How we protect your information.
(a) The Fool’s Glass is concerned with protecting your privacy and data, but we cannot ensure or warrant the security of any information that you transmit to The Fool’s Glass or guarantee that your information with The Fool’s Glass may not be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of any of our industry standard physical, technical or managerial safeguards.
(b) We do not require sensitive information (such as log-in credentials) on our order forms, as ordering is handled by our contracted services (Etsy, CafePress).
(c) We do not collect or request sensitive information (such as log-in credentials) when receiving payments, as payment processing is handled by contracted services (Etsy, Square, PayPal).
