The Fool's Glass is pleased to announce a very special stained glass panel designed for The Airedale Terrier Club of Scotland Breed Rescue.
This group is currently raising money to commission and erect a monument at the East Haven Beach Area in Angus, Scotland in honor of the Airedales that served in WWI.
Thousands of Airedale Terriers were used in World War One. They were used by the British Red Cross and by The British Army to locate injured soldiers on the battlefields, for sentry work, to carry messages through the trenches and to carry first aid supplies and to transport the carrier pigeons on crates on their backs.
This custom piece of stained glass commemorates that work, with the Airedale Terrier holding a first aid supply bag.
Each piece will have a tag indicating its place within the edition, and the piece number will be painted onto the ornaments. At the end of the year, when the edition closes, all of the owners of record will be notified of the final edition count for each. Additionally, all of the ornaments and panels will come with an accompanying Certificate of Authenticity.
A portion of the proceeds from both the ornament will benefit The Airedale Terrier Club of Scotland Breed Rescue - so not only are you getting a special commemorative piece for your home -- the Club will receive funds towards their monumental goal.
The picture posted to the right is the prototype piece. As with any handmade stained glass, there will be variations between each finished panel.
